Actor Abraham Attah wins Best Male Lead Award

The Beasts of No Nation actor, Abraham Attah  on Saturday was named best male lead at the 31st Film Independent Spirit Awards.

The 15 years old actor, overcame fellow actors such as Christopher Abbott (James White), Ben Mendelsohn (Mississippi Grind), Jason Segel ( The End of the Tour) and Koudous Seihon (Mediterranea) for the award.

Upon taking the stage Mr. Abraham Attah thanked everyone from Idris Elba his fellow winner to the Netflix film’s director, Carry Fukunaga, to the costume designers.

Idris Elba brought the Ghanaian actor up with him to share his best supporting male actor award earlier in the night, and this was what he(Idris Elba) had to say to Abraham, “I couldn’t have done it without you”

Abraham played child soldier Agu in the African war drama, which happens to be Netflix’s first original narrative film.
