The Black Stars of Ghana sit second from bottom with just a point in two matches, and it seems they will be missing out on the 2018 Fifa World Cup for the first time since 2006 after a 2-0 defeat to Egypt on Sunday 13th November,2016 at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, even with four matches left to play.

The Ghanaian team played without Asamoah Gyan who is notably their key player due to injury.

Ghana's Mubarack Wakaso and Jordan Ayew posed some threats in the early hours of the game.

Even though Ghana controlled possession the Egyptians had their first goal which was scored by Mohamed Salah in the 42nd minute after Ghana's Harrison Afful brought down Egypt's Hassan Trezeguet.

In 53 minutes of action, Agyeman Badu's header  from Wakaso's free kick couldn't locate the goal post.

Even though the Black Stars searched for an early equalizer, the Egyptians did not miss a chance. Five minutes to the end of the game Abdallah Said of Egypt did not miss the chance by scoring the second goal.

The Pharaohs first half penalty goal and second half goal won three points for them.

The Egyptians have overtaken Uganda, who defeated Congo 1-0 on Saturday, at the top of the table.
